Job Description:

Hyundai America Technical Center, Inc. (HATCI) is currently looking for a Facilities Lead for its facility in Irvine, CA that will perform following duties, including but not limited to:


Supervise the overall operations of the Irvine ( Hyundai Design Center, Kia Design Center) and Chino facilities. Oversee safety, security, HVAC, maintenance, and project management activities for both sites. Coordinate the work activities for the Senior Administrator Assistant and contract Receptionist and Technicians.  Act as primary point of contact for local fire department, police, and state and federal agencies (CAOSHA, EPA, etc.)

< Essential Duties and responsibilities, including but not limited to:>

Perform as Project Manager for building maintenance or construction projects for both California facilities; act as primary contact for construction, construction management, architectural/engineering and subcontractors; collect bid packages and coordinate selected contractors; resolve punch list and warranty problems.

Oversees onsite maintenance staff to coordinate, schedule and implement activities related to facility building operations and increase operational efficiency through timely planning, scheduling and execution of maintenance and project activities.

Foster a positive relationship with the Maintenance team - coach, resource and promote a culture of accountability.

Develop and perform security policies and procedures.  Act as primary contact for contract Security firm, local, state and federal authorities - CAOSHA, OSHA, EPA, etc.  Program and issue security badges, Administrate CCTV and visitor registration system, etc.

Develop and perform safety policies and procedures.  Monitor safety of work environment and building safety systems.  Act as primary contact for local, state and federal authorities - CAOSHA, OSHA, EPA, etc.  Conduct safety training.

Support in facility needs for the various functions such as annual Holiday party, Summer BBQs, and corporate core value activities.

Plan, monitor and manage the department budget (CA facilities).

Create and present technical / achievement/ planning reports as assigned such as Half year, year end report; report on progress weekly to Management.

Perform administrative functions such as purchasing requests, timecard, vacation requests, travel requests, etc.

Perform additional projects as assigned.

Travel up to 20% of time. (required visit Hyundai Design – Kia Design – Chino facilities in regular base)

This position reports to Manager

Experience and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Business or related field requested

  • 3+ years experience developing safety and security policies

  • Experience working in culturally diverse team environment

  • 5+ years experience in facilities management for large enterprise

  • Certified Facilities Manager (CFM) or Real Property Administrator (RPA) Certification preferred
