Job Description:

Hyundai America Technical Center, Inc. (HATCI) is currently looking for a High Performance Ride & Handling Senior Engineer at our Proving Ground in California City, California.



  • Develop the Ride & Handling performance of high performance vehicles through subjective/objective testing and calibration for North American Market Hyundai, Kia & Genesis prototype through production vehicles in collaboration with system suppliers
  • Develop and execute test plans, coordinate test vehicles, and manage supplier activities
  • Confirm high and low mu chassis control systems performance (ESC/TCS/ABS/AWD/…)
  • Conduct objective test & analysis following National Highway Traffic Safety Association (NHTSA) test standards and major media test procedures
  • Confirm vehicle integration of chassis control systems (ESC, AWD, e-LSD, …) through collaboration with Chassis Controls and Brake engineers
  • Conduct benchmarking of competitive vehicles and support customer feedback research to understand customer requirements
  • Develop in-house testing methodology and specify/procure test instrumentation as needed
  • Support all chassis research & development activities at the Proving Ground
  • Provide technical support to Hyundai and Kia North American manufacturing plants
  • Create and present clear & concise technical reports
  • Work in a small team environment as well as independently
  • Travel up to 40%, domestically and internationally to support product development and testing



Experience and Skills:

  • Bachelors of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a related field of study
  • Valid Driver’s License and satisfactory driving record
  • 5 or more years of relevant engineering experience in the automotive industry
  • 5 or more years of in vehicle Ride & Handling testing, tuning, & development experience
